Plant Lipids Observes Food Safety Week 2026

Plant Lipids Group observed Food Safety Week 2026 from 1–8 June, in line with World Food Safety Day, under the theme “From Burden to Solutions – Safe Food Everywhere.” The week-long programme was organized to promote awareness of food safety practices and reinforce the importance of safety, quality, and compliance across the organization.

The celebrations began with awareness initiatives including banner and poster displays, a food safety pledge ceremony, webinars, and employee engagement activities. Throughout the week, employees from various divisions participated in a range of competitions and interactive sessions designed to strengthen food safety knowledge and encourage cross-functional involvement.

Activities included the Food Safety Relay, Spot the Risk Tile Game, Musical Chair – The Invisible Enemy, Hazard Hunt, Passing the Ball, Blind Sensory Challenge, Food Safety Mega Quiz, Food Safety Poster Competition, Food Safety Video Competition, Dialogue Challenge, Suggestion Challenge, and Food Safety Exhibition.

An awareness session on the theme “From Burden to Solutions” and several technical webinars were also conducted as part of the programme, highlighting the role of individual responsibility and preventive practices in maintaining food safety standards.

The week concluded on 8 June with a valedictory function. The programme included a welcome address, the Food Safety Pledge, and a special address by Ms. Shamsiya M.N., Food Safety Officer, who spoke about the importance of maintaining a strong food safety culture and translating knowledge into practical actions across the food value chain.

The event also featured the distribution of prizes to winners of the various competitions conducted during the week.

Overall Championship

The overall championship was secured by PLK with 140 points. Aurea finished in second place with 95 points, followed by Condiments with 80 points. Aromatics, Speciality, and Tropical Flavours secured fourth, fifth, and sixth positions respectively.

Special Recognition

Recognition was also given to the canteen staff members Preeji, Meenamol, Sali Kuriakose, Mini, and Divya for their participation in the food safety training programme.

Acknowledgements

Special thanks are extended to the Quality Assurance (QA) Team, who spearheaded the planning and execution of the week-long programme under the guidance of Ms. Vineetha. Food Safety Week 2026 provided an opportunity for employees across divisions to engage in learning, collaboration, and awareness-building activities, further reinforcing Plant Lipids’ commitment to food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
