ASTO Training Program: Partnering with Safety experts

We recently welcomed a group of Assistant Station Officers (ASTOs) from the Kerala State Fire and Rescue Services for an industrial visit and training program. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between industry and emergency services, fostering a valuable exchange of knowledge and expertise in fire safety.

The program started with a welcome speech and a presentation on our company’s operations. This provided the ASTOs with a detailed understanding of our facilities and potential fire risks.

Next, there was a detailed presentation into the robust fire safety systems implemented at our plants. This provided the ASTOs to gain understanding of our fire prevention and suppression mechanisms.

The most important part of the program was a guided site visit. The ASTOs witnessed the PLK Oil Room’s deluge valve foam bladder system and the PLK CP2 & Bladder system and Fire Pump house, viewing it themselves and gained assurance in our fire suppression infrastructure.

This was followed by a live firefighting demonstration. Witnessing skilled professionals in action provided the ASTOs with confidence in our real-world firefighting techniques.

We believe this collaborative effort will equip our team with the knowledge and confidence to tackle fire emergencies more effectively, ultimately enhancing public safety within their communities.
