Plant Lipids has been actively supporting the Customs Cadet Corps project in collaboration with Cochin Customs for the past five years, contributing to the training and development of students from government schools.

The Customs Cadet Corps initiative is aimed at providing structured exposure and skill development opportunities to selected students. The programme includes field visits to seaports, ocean-going vessels, sea patrolling units, and international airports. Students also participate in facilitating international passengers at airports as part of their practical learning.

In addition to field exposure, the programme offers training sessions in personality development, communication skills, spoken English, and self-defence. It also includes modules on environmental awareness, social responsibility, and participation in initiatives such as the Swachh Bharat movement. The programme places a strong emphasis on discipline and aims to prepare students for future opportunities, including uniformed services.

The initiative was launched as a pilot project in the academic year 2015–16 with one government school under the jurisdiction of Custom House Cochin. Following its initial success, the programme has expanded to cover nine additional government schools.

Plant Lipids’ continued involvement reflects its commitment to supporting community-based initiatives focused on education, skill development, and youth empowerment.
