Upon arriving, Tom was immediately overwhelmed by the challenges he faced. He saw the unfamiliar culture, language, and business environment as problems that would make it impossible for him to sell shoes. He struggled to find customers and make sales, and became increasingly discouraged. He focused on the challenges he faced and was unable to see any potential opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, Joe saw the same challenges as opportunities. He was excited about the chance to learn and grow in an unfamiliar environment. He noticed that many people in Africa were in need of good quality, durable, and affordable shoes, as the existing options were expensive and of poor quality. He worked hard to learn about the local market, culture, and business practices. He was open-minded and was able to find new opportunities where Tom saw only problems.
